I’ve always been attracted to the tradition of holy wells in Ireland. We have a well on our land in Doolin but, alas, it is not holy. In fact it’s not even drinkable. A recent lab test revealed high levels of coliforms and E-Coli. “So… is that good or bad?” as one local put it to me as he was about to fill his bottles. We have to stop people taking water from it now.
